“If you think disability is a bad word, it’s probably because you think disability is bad.” Many of us are ignored on this issue regularly. We are disabled people, not “people with” anything. Non-disabled people don’t get to tell us what to call ourselves. #Disabled #SayTheWord
@RachelCDailey for @TheUnwrittenPub “You don’t need to tell me I’m a person. I already know that. I was never dehumanising myself in the first place, you were by taking away my right to identify as a disabled person.” #DisabilityPrideMonth theunwritten.co.uk/2021/07/0…

Many people, esp. #politicians, persist in their opinion that #COVID19 pts either die or recover. They still ignore the fact that many pts who got infected suffer from #LongCovid & need months to convalesce. Some LC pts develop #MECFS & will be permanently #disabled🆘 @long_covid
“We conservatively expect more than 15 million cases of long Covid resulting from this pandemic. And though data are still emerging, the average age of patients with long Covid is about 40, which means that the majority are in their prime working years.” nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NE…

hey #disabled +our allies/accomplices: This bill, should it pass, will save lives, including my own. I would be able to have an actual savings, I could marry my partner of 10 years, I could LIVE MY LIFE. Please, PLEASE do this and share it far and wide. Lives depend on it.

Just finished book number 75 of the year, taking me to ¾ of my target for the year. It feels like a massive achievement with all my health in a mess. Audiobooks are the best ❤ #DisabilityPrideMonth #disabled #books #bookblogger
